Anthony is currently Head of Corporate Sales at the Barbican, responsible for the commercial sales, marketing and PR for conferences, banqueting, exhibitions and corporate hospitality.

He joined the Barbican in 2001 as Business Development Manager from a background in hotels and has been in the industry for 7 years.

He has been a member of MPI since 2001, and having served on various committees is currently the President for the MPI UK and Ireland Chapter

Fiona is Managing Director of Organise This, an event management company focused on planning events in a way that is environmentally responsible and community involved. Fiona is Chair for BS 8901 a management system for sustainable events, which launched Autumn 2007. She is also on the panel for the Convention Industry Council’s developing standard for sustainability. Fiona is currently President Elect for the UK MPI Chapter as well as the CSR Representative and has spoken internationally at educational events including MPI conferences.

Prior to her current role as Immediate Past President, Mandy has been on the MPI UK Board for 4 years and has served as Events Chair before becoming President in 2008. Mandy has a strong background in marketing with over 12 years of experience in services, publishing and exhibitions. Before becoming an Event Manager, Mandy, was responsible for the move to Barcelona and the See You There campaign. She also launched the first EIBTM website and monthly e-newsletters, online sharing company registration and online visitor registration. Mandy helped launch the industry's first dedicated Association Programme and now Corporate Programme. Mandy has been Exhibition Director of EIBTM since April 2007, overseeing Sales, Marketing and Hosted Buyer Programmes reporting to Paul Kennedy MBE, Meetings and Incentives Group Exhibition Director.

Emma has been a member of MPI since 2005. As an Underwriter of a wide portfolio of events throughout the industry, Emma finds it particularly interesting to see things through the eyes of planners and suppliers. In particular, Emma has found the education evenings of great interest and has gained a greater understanding of what is involved in organising an event. In the forthcoming year Emma looks forward to seeing a soar in membership with the fantastic Training and Social events scheduled, and to meeting more members of the MPI fraternity. Emma is currently the Treasurer & Chair of By-laws.

Dawn has roots in Adult Learning Psychology and remains a Course Leader and Lecturer. In 2003 she started to work with planners and speakers to deliver ROI on the content aspects of events, setting up Speaker with Content Ltd. Continuing as Education Chair, her focus for 2009/10 is to provide differentiated learning for the membership, delivered through a variety of methods; workshops, Masterclasses, virtual learning environments and case studies are some of the ways the knowledge will be shared for 09/10.

Becky started her career in the industry at Carlson Wagonlit Travel. She then went on to join the Travel Industry Association of America, Qatar Airways and Hills Balfour Synergy.She now looks after the MICE marrket for the Macau Government Tourist Office at Hume Whitehead. Becky sits on the board of the UK MPI Chapter as Deputy Education Chair.

Colin has many years selling and marketing experience in media, exhibitions and the hotel industry. Currently Director of Sales for Jesta Hotels who own the 5 star Palais Stephanie in Cannes, the 4 star Hotel Ambassadeur in Juan les Pins and the Airport Hotel in Montreal. Colin has been an MPI member for 7 years now and has served on the Events and Marketing committees before taking on the Chair of Marketing in 2008/9. The reason he likes MPI is that the networking is the best in the industry and the 50/50 buyer, supplier split ensures a healthy membership. Objectives for this year will be to create a greater awareness and attract more members to the MPI global community as well as giving greater value to members as well as supporting regional initiatives.

Involved with MPI since 2006, Liz has been involved in the membership, marketing and education committees before becoming the Chair of Membership. Liz works for Metro Broadcast Ltd who supply audio visual, broadcast and event services to companies such as Accenture, Credit Suisse and GlaxoSmithKline and has a background in managing marketing and client projects for HSBC Bank.

An MPI member for 3 years, Samme is now chairing the partnership committee and is working to promote the added value of partnering with MPI UK to our members. Having been an active member, she is now a strong advocate of how well the organisation works for our members through professional networking, great educational events and the ability to communicate event challenges with peers
Rachael  Ferrand

Rachael has been in the hotel industry for over 22 years, the first 11 years of her career saw her in operational roles from Front of House Manager to Assistant Manager, based in various hotels in the North & the Midlands. 11 years ago Rachael moved from hotel operational roles into Sales and for the past 5 years has been Account Director at IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) and more recently promoted to Senior Account Director for the Meeting Market. Rachael has been a member of MPI for 3 years and has recently undertaken the Role as Regional Chair for the North.

Paul Cook, Managing Director of Planet Planit, is passionate about the events and production industries. He is keen to raise the importance and awareness of effective planning across the industry. Paul already runs a successful business, Clarity Event Insurance providing insurance for special events and is recognised as a leading figure in the events industry. Paul is Strategic Advisor to Meeting Professionals International UK Chapter and he is also currently serving on the International Chapter Leadership Committee of MPI's global body.

Mary has been in the C&I industry for over 20 years. In that time, working for companies such as Maritz, BI and Universal CIT, she has gained a wealth of experience on a variety of events ranging from small meetings to congresses, sales meetings and car launches with corporate clients including Automotive, Financial and Pharmaceutical. Mary joined as Secretariat of MPI UK in January 2007.
